--IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THE ATTACHED PERMIT--
Enclosed is your approved State permit for the signing it identifies
and describes. The permit recognizes that this signing conforms to
the requirements of Section 84.30 of the Wis. Statutes and to other
Administrative Rules and Laws currently applicable and effective.
This permit is effective until superseded or revoked.
The department does monitor the installation and maintenance of permitted
signs. If we €and that this permit application included misrepresentation °'

INSTRUCTIONS TO APPLICANT:
Submit this application to the District Office identified in the block entitled "Mail Completed Permit Application To:". Application shap include the
following:
A. Three copies of this application form with all entries completed down to dotted line.
B. Three copies of a sign sketch illustrating the size(by dimensions),shape,color scheme and message of the proposed display.
C. Three copies of a site plan drawing, detailing sign positioning with respect to the highway,direction(s) of the sign's facing or facings,and whether the
display will be on a building or free-standing.The location fot On-propetty signing shall be referenced(distance shown)to the nearest part of the building
in which the activity is conduct�d or managed, Include on the drawing, the locations of property lines;and development features, such at customer
parking lots.
D. One copy of some form of documentation from the jurisdictional zoning suthority to prove how the property is zoned,include date current zoning was
established. If no zoning has been assigned to the property,include a statement from the jurisdictional zoning authority, to the effect that the land is
unzoned.

(aa) Outdoor advertising displays may be located in the
C-2, C-3 and all Industrial Districts. Under no
circumstances shall an outdoor advertising display
be located closer than three hundred (300) feet
from a Residential District, public park, or
school.
(bb) At a minimum, all outdoor advertising displays must
be setback in accordance with the requirements of
the zoning district in which they are located.
Exclusive of setback requirements, no outdoor
advertising displays shall be constructed closer
than seventy-five (75) feet from the centerline of

a major arterial street including Koeller Street
and Washburn Street.
(cc) No lot shall accommodate more than one (1) outdoor
advertising display.
(dd) Outdoor advertising displays may be constructed on
lots with a minimum of one hundred (100) feet of
street frontage.
(ee) No outdoor advertising display shall exceed thirty-
five (35) feet in height.
(ff) No outdoor advertising display shall be located
less than five hundred (500) lineal frontage feet
from another outdoor advertising display.
(gg) Outdoor advertising displays may contain sign copy
on two (2) sides, but in no case shall the gross
sign area of one side of an outdoor advertising
display exceed seven hundred (700) square feet. If
an outdoor advertising display is proposed to
contain a gross area per face of between three
hundred (300) and seven hundred (700) square feet,
the maximum area shall be computed as follows: �

(hh) All outdoor advertising displays referenced in
Section 84.30 of the Wisconsin Statutes must
demonstrate compliance with that Chapter and the
Wisconsin Administrative Code.
(i) Time and Temnerature Si s: Time and temperature signs shall
be permitted in all Commercial and Industrial Districts,
except C-1 Neighborhood Business District.
{j) Messaste Center Si ns: Message center signs shall be permitted
in all Commercial and Industrial Districts except C-1
Neighborhood Business District. Messages shall be incidental
to and customary in conjunction with the principal use of the
property (said business) and including public service
messages. Message center signs shall not exceed fifty (50)
square feet on one side or one hundred (100) square feet on
all sides. Not more than one {1) message center sign is
allowed on a premises.
(k) Off-Premise Si s: (Electrical and Ground Signs excluding
Posterpanels and Painted Bulletins) Electrical and ground
signs shall be permitted in the M-1 Light Industrial, M-3
Heavy Industrial Districts and in all Commercial and
Industrial Districts lying within a rectangular area five
hundred (500) feet either side of the center line of U.S.
Highway 41 or in a one thousand (1,000) foot radius of any
interchange or overpass of U.S. Highway 41. Electric or
ground signs shall not exceed thirty (30) feet in height and
such signs are not to exceed two hundred (200) square feet on
one side or four hundred (400) square feet on all sides. No
off premise sign shall be located less than three hundred
(300) frontage lineal feet from any other off premise sign or
billboard and not closer than two hundred (200) feet from any
on-premise sign.
(1) Mobile Mounted Si s: Mobile signs shall be permitted only in
the C-2 Light Commercial, C-3 Commercial and Industrial
Districts. Mobile signs shall not exceed eight (8} feet in
height nor forty-eight (48) square feet in area. (This :
restriction does not apply to mobile mounted signs on :
storage. ) The combined areas of mobile signs and existing
ground signs shall not e:cceed four hundred (400) square feet
for any one premise.
