He told there were plans to incorporate the universal blue P parking symbol on the signs and that each of the different types of parking spaces was recommended to be color coded. There was discussion about adding the word “The” to the name Grand North/South Lots to avoid confusion with Grand Street. The possibility of combining 300 West Lot with Grand North Lot was brought up. Jim Collins explained the Otter Lot was further from Main Street than the 200 East Lot, thus the closer one named 200 East Lot. It was agreed to allow the committee to finish their recommendations and support them. Approve closing State Street Lot from June 1 – October 1, 2017 Jim Collins Jim Collins told the Board that there are 20 spaces in the State Street parking lot. He said during construction this area would be used to stage construction materials and that if left open would pose a greater risk to vehicles in the lot. There was discussion about dust suppression and orange fencing during construction, and giving notice of the lot closure. 1st: Jim Stapel 2nd: Chanda Anderson Carried: 4 - 0 Parking Utility Commission Date: 5/10/17 Location: City Hall 3 Location: City Hall 3 Topic Facilitator Topic Facilitator Discussion Actions Topic Facilitator Discussion Actions Topic Facilitator Discussion Actions Discussion Actions Consolidation of some Boards and Commissions Jim Collins Jim Collins said the roles and possible consolidation of Boards and Commissions are being discussed. There was discussion about how many seats are available on the TRAB, and the possibility of removal of some members. Jim explained City Council determines how many seats there are and the mayor appoints the members.
