Attendees: Absent: Jim Collins, Transportation Director Diane Lowe, Board David Vickman, Coordinator Evelyn Meuret, Board Marlene Binder, Secretary Mike Norton, Board Caroline Panske, Chairman Stefanie Steinfort, Board Troy Monday, Vice-Chair Lee Williams, Board Topic Facilitator Discussion Actions Meeting Started Caroline Panske Caroline Panske called the meeting to order at 4:11 p.m. Accept meeting minutes Caroline Panske Acceptance of December 21, 2016 TAB meeting minutes. 1st: Lee Williams 2nd: Diane Lowe Introduction David Vickman David Vickman introduced James Rashid, program, education and development coordinator of World Relief Fox Valley. The World Relief office is located at 115 Washington Avenue in Oshkosh, the telephone number is 231-3600 and their website is www.worldrelieffoxvalley.org. James Rashid’s email is jrashid@wr.org. Topic Facilitator Discussion Actions Presentation by World Relief on refugees and transit usage James Rashid James told that the goal of World Relief is to educate refugees about the community and connect them with the many resources available. He explained that public health, human services, Badger Care, Food Share, Forward Service Corp., Job Service, Winnebago Literacy Council, Oshkosh Areas School District, and Fox Valley Technical College are a few of the resources in the area. He said training on how to use the bus is offered. He told that transportation is the connecting piece to all these resources and employment. TDP Update Jim Collins Mike Norton David Vickman Jim Collins said the TDP kick off meet went well. He explained that representatives from many diverse organizations representing employers, students, social agencies and bus riders are part of the steering committee. He told the group would meet every other month for a year or two and take a look many issues such as service area, fares etc. Mike Norton said the group was more diverse and well represented than in past years. Dave Vickman said the TAB would be updated as needed throughout the process. Topic Facilitator Discussion Actions Bus Procurement Jim Collins David Vickman Mike Norton Jim Collins said the Wisconsin DOT released the procurement and he anticipates the contract will be awarded to vendors in April and then GO Transit can award a contract shortly thereafter for a bus build David Vickman said the funding is in place. Mike Norton asked about service to Parkview/Winnebago County Park and suggested it may be possible for Winnebago County to contribute funds. Dave Vickman explained there are many things that must be considered when deciding to change a route such as if there is time in the schedule, amount of usage, and how it would impact our existing riders.
