RE: Cooperative Purchases for Pickup Truck for Street Division and Van for Water
Distribution Division
BACKGROUND
This memo is to report two recent vehicle purchases pursuant to the cooperative purchase exception of
our purchasing ordinance. The first vehicle is a Chevy Silverado 1500 4WD Double Cab for the Street
Division. The second vehicle is a Ford Transit Connect for the Water Distribution Division.
ANALYSIS
Purchasing has verified that Ewald Automotive Group holds the State of Wisconsin Department of
Administration contract (#505ENT-M17-2017VEHICS-00) for these vehicles.
FISCAL IMPACT
The total fiscal impact of the Chevy Silverado from Ewald's state contract pricing is $30,869.00. The
2017 CIP allocated $45,000.00 for this vehicle. The total fiscal impact of the Ford Transit Connect from
Ewald's state contract pricing is $24,582.00. The 2017 CIP allocated $39,000.00 for this vehicle. The
remaining balances of each vehicle's CIP allocation will fund the remaining vehicle components.
RECOMMENDATION
Section 12-15 of the Municipal Code provides that subject to approval of the City Manager, cooperative
purchases pursuant to a contract with any other local, state or federal governmental unit or agency may
be made without following a competitive bidding or quotation process. In accordance with Section 12-
15 of the Municipal Code, I am hereby submitting a report of this purchase to the Common Council. If
you have any questions on this purchase please contact myself or General Services Manager Jon Urben.
Respectfully Submitted,
Mark A. Rohloff, City Manager
