FOR 16' RIDING TRACTOR MOWER FOR PARKS DEPARTMENT ($82,240.24) INITIATED BY: PURCHASING DIVISION WHEREAS, the City of Oshkosh has heretofore advertised for bids for the purchase of a 16' riding tractor mower for the Parks Department; and WHEREAS, upon the opening and tabulation of bids, it appears that the following is the most advantageous bid: REINDERS, INC. W227 N6225 Sussex Road Sussex, WI 53089 Total Sid: $82,240.24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that the said bid is hereby accepted and the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to enter into an appropriate agreement for the purpose of same, all according to plans, specifications, and bid on file. Money for this purpose is hereby appropriated from: Acct. No. 323-0610-7204-06724 Equipment Fund — Machinery & Equipment TO: Honorable Mayor and Members of the Common Council FROM: Jon G. Urben, General Services Manager DATE: April 18, 2017 RE: Award Bid to Reinders Inc. for 16' Riding Tractor Mower for Parks Department ($82,240.24) BACKGROUND The 2017 CIP allocated $78,000.00 for a 16' riding tractor mower for the Parks Department. The new unit will replace a 2002 Jacobsen that has experienced increasing maintenance/repair costs and has reached the end of its useful life expectancy. The new unit will increase the efficiency of Parks' mowing operations during the growing season. ANALYSIS Working with Parks Department staff, Purchasing prepared bid specifications for this unit. The bid was posted on Onvia DemandStar. Bids were due March 21, 2017. While two bids were received, only one bid met the minimum bid specifications. The bid tab is attached. Based on the bid review, it was the consensus of City staff that the sole bid met the minimum bid requirements and was competitive. FISCAL IMPACT The total fiscal impact of this bid with trade-in is $82,240.24. The 2017 CIP allocated $78,000.00 for this project. This project will be charged to A/N#: 323-0610-7204-06724. There are adequate remaining funds from the Parks Department Leaf Picker Award to cover the $4,240.24 overage for this bid.
