PURPOSE: AWARD SID TO REINDERS, INC. FOR LEAF PICKER FOR PARKS
DEPARTMENT ($17,430.00)
INITIATED BY: PURCHASING DIVISION
WHEREAS, the City of Oshkosh has heretofore advertised for bids for the purchase of a
leaf picker unit for the Parks Department; and
WHEREAS, upon the opening and tabulation of bids, it appears that the following is
the most advantageous bid:

Total Sid: $17,430.00
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of
Oshkosh that the said bid is hereby accepted and the proper City officials are hereby
authorized and directed to enter into an appropriate agreement for the purpose of same, all
according to plans, specifications, and bid on file. Money for this purpose is hereby
appropriated from:

RE: Award Bid to Reinders Inc. for Leaf Picker for Parks Department ($17,430.00)
BACKGROUND
The 2017 CIP allocated $25,000.00 for a leaf picker for the Parks Department. The new unit will replace
three leaf/debris picking units that are no longer operational or efficient. The new unit will provide
improved efficiency and versatility for collecting debris on both paved and turfed areas. In addition,
the new unit will have an auxiliary hose to clean fence lines, landscape beds, gutters and various
unique areas.
ANALYSIS
Working with Parks Department staff, Purchasing prepared bid specifications for this unit. The bid
was posted on Onvia DemandStar. Bids were due April 4, 2017. The bid tab is attached. Based on the
bid review, it was the consensus of City staff that the low bid met the minimum bid requirements.
FISCAL IMPACT
The total fiscal impact of this bid with trade-in is $17,430.00. The 2017 CIP allocated $25,000.00 for this
project. This project will be charged to A/N# 323-0610-7204-06730.
RECOMMENDATION
Purchasing recommends the Common Council award this bid to Reinders Inc. for $17,430.00.
