HomeMy WebLinkAbout1-19-17 MINUTESBICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES –January 19, 2017 PRESENT:Tom Otto, Adam Bellcorelli,Vicky Redlin,Jay Stengel, STAFF:Assistant Planner Alexa Naudziunas, Steve Gohde Public Works, Jim Collins Transportation 1.Call to Order Mr.Bellcorelli called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. 2.Approval of November 17,2016 Meeting Minutes Mr. Otto moved to approve November 17,2016 meeting minutes as amended.Ms. Redlin seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. 3.Oregon/Jackson Street Bridge Project –Provide Common Council with input Mr. Gohde, Public Works Department, presented the variety of proposed bridge plans to the committee. The committee discussed the advantages and disadvantaged presented by each bridge plan. Mr. Otto repeatedly expressed a concern about the steepness of certain designs and the hardship this will cause trucks in the instance that there is ice on the bridge. The committee discussed how the landscape will be effected with a higher bridge. Ms. Redlin explained that the purpose of the committee is to implement the Bicycle and Pedestrian Circulation Plan and that she would support a design that allows this to happen. Mr. Stengel made a motion to recommendation design C1 and Ms. Redlin seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-1. Ms. Redlin made a motion to recommend design J1 as the committee’s second choice and Mr. Stengel seconded the motion. Two committee members voted in favor of this motion, one abstained and one voted against. Motion carried. 4.Bicycle and Pedestrian Circulation Plan Update Ms. Naudziunas discussed the plan to update the Bicycle and Pedestrian Circulation Plan over 2017. She explained that each chapter will be reviewed with the committee and any routes changes will also be reviewed.The committee reviewed the materials from the previous meeting. 5.Potential Improvement Projects –Prioritize projects Ms. Redlin had to leave the meeting resulting in lack of quorum.The committee agreed to move this item to the February meeting so that Jim Michelson will be present to discuss his project selections. 6.Agenda Items for the Future Meeting(s) The committee expressed an interest keeping the Bicycle and Pedestrian Circulation Plan on the agenda. 7.Adjournment Ms. Redlin moved to adjourn the meeting and Mr.Stengel seconded the motion.
