SUSTAINABILITY ADVISORY BOARD
DECEMBER 5, 2016
PRESENT: Margy Davey, Jan Scalpone, Robert Turner, Tom Pech, and Michelle Bogden Muetzel

CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. and a quorum was declared present.
PUBLIC COMMENT
No public comment was received.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES, FEBRUARY 1ST, 2016
Motion by Mr. Pech and second by Mr. Turner to approve minutes as written. Motion carried (5-0).
APPROVAL OF URBAN BEEKEEPING ORDINANCE
Members reviewed the proposed urban beekeeping ordinance. Mr. Pech requested that Section (D)(6) be
changed to read “may be revoked” to “shall be revoked”. Ms. Davey agreed with the suggested edit.
Motion by Mr. Pech and second by Mr. Turner to approve the urban beekeeping ordinance as amended. Motion
carried (5-0).
APPROVAL OF 2017 SUSTAINABILITY ADVISORY BOARD GOALS
Members reviewed the proposed 2017 Sustainability Advisory Board goals. Ms. Davey requested an item be
added to include a discussion with the Transportation Department future GO-Transit fleet purchases.
Ms. Bogden Muetzel requested members add an item to continue support of the Shoreland restoration project
in Menominee Park and gauge interest in volunteering for a cleanup event in 2017.
Ms. Scalpone requested clarification regarding reviewing the Sustainability Plan. Members had a brief
discussion and agreed that it was time to review the plan in preparation for an update in the near future.
Ms. Davey suggested an item be added to advocate for Winnebago County to adopt the Wisconsin PACE
program to support business and industry
Ms. Williams explained the City received an Urban Forestry grant from the Wisconsin Department of Natural
Resources which is intended to diversify the Oshkosh’s tree canopy. Members agreed to add an item to support
implementation of the grant as part of their education and outreach efforts.
Motion by Ms. Scalpone and second by Ms. Bogden Muetzel to approve the 2017 Sustainability Advisory Board
Goals with the four additions mentioned. Motion carried (5-0)

AGENDA ITEMS FOR FUTURE MEETING
Members discussed various future agenda items including inventory of electric vehicle infrastructure, website
updates, and updating the terrace tree ordinance.
NEXT MEETING MONDAY, FEBRUARY 6, 2017.
Chair Davey reminded the Board of the next meeting.

Motion by Mr. Pech and second by Ms. Bogden Muetzel to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried 5-0. Meeting
adjourned at 6:20 pm.
