HomeMy WebLinkAbout13. 16-529 NOVEMBER 22, 2016 16-529 RESOLUTION (CARRIED 7-0 LOST _______ LAID OVER _______ WITHDRAWN _______) PURPOSE: APPROVE SPECIAL EVENT / DOWNTOWN MARKETING CONSORTIUM - BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT (BID) / UTILIZE CITY STREETS & OPERA HOUSE SQUARE FOR THE CHALK WALK / AUGUST 5, 2017 INITIATED BY: CITY ADMINISTRATION NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that approval is granted to the Downtown Marketing Consortium - BID (Sandy Prunty) to utilize the 400 block of N. Main Street, Market Street and Opera House Square, on Saturday, August 5, 2017, (rain date August 12, 2017) from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for their Downtown Oshkosh Chalk Walk, in accordance with the municipal code and the attached application, with the following exceptions/conditions: A. To allow chalk to not be removed immediately following the end of the event, a Type D modified inlet protection (or equivalent) installed in all inlets (approximately 7) abutting the Opera House Square. Inlet protection must be approved by the Department of Public Works and shall be installed by a contractor licensed by the City for work in the ROW. Inlet protection shall be installed no more than 3 days prior to the event and shall be removed once all chalk residue has disappeared from the sidewalk and no longer than 3 weeks after rain date of the event date. If the event is rescheduled to the rain date after installation, inlet protection may remain in place until after the event. If Type D modified inlet protection (or equivalent) is not installed by a licensed contractor; the clean-up is to be completed through a combination of the use of a sidewalk sweeper and low-power power washing of any remaining residue as approved by the City of Oshkosh Department of Public Works. B. C. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that as a condition of approval, the Event Organizer shall pay the City’s actual costs for extraordinary services.
