HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-20-16 MINUTES(1)BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES –October 20, 2016 PRESENT:Tom Otto, Adam Bellcorelli,James Michelson,Vicky Redlin,Caroline Panske STAFF:Assistant Planner Alexa Naudziunas 1.Call to Order Mr.Michelson called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. 2.Approval of September 15,2016 Meeting Minutes Ms.Panske moved to approve September 15,2016 meeting minutes as amended.Mr. Bellcorelli seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. 3.Oregon/Jackson Street Bridge Project –Public Input Meeting update The committee discussed the Oregon/Jackson Street Bridge project. Mr. Michelson presented to the committee on the meeting that he attended. There were about 20 people in attendance. He was able to discuss his preference for wider sidewalks with a representative from the WisDOT at this public input meeting. Ms. Naudziunas agreed to inform the committee as more information on this project is available. 4.Pedestrian Safety Month –Discussion Ms. Naudziunas explained that Jim Collins Transportation Director has begun preliminary plans to help improve the safety of navigating roundabouts as a pedestrian. Ms. Naudziunas would like to include the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee in the process.Ms. Naudziunas she will continue to update the committee on the planning process. 5.Bicycle and Pedestrian Circulation Plan Update Ms. Naudziunas discussed the plan to update the Bicycle and Pedestrian Circulation Plan over winter. She explained that each chapter will be reviewed with the committee and any routes changes will also be reviewed.Ms. Naudziunas agreed to locate the past meeting materials where the plan update was discussed. 6.Agenda Items for the Future Meeting(s) The committee expressed an interest keeping the Bicycle and Pedestrian Circulation Plan on the agenda. Mr. Michaelson would like to review his potential improvement projects at the November meeting. 7.Adjournment Mr.Otto moved to adjourn the meeting and Mr.Bellcorelli seconded the motion.
