HomeMy WebLinkAbout9-15-16 MINUTESBICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES –September 15, 2016 PRESENT:Tom Otto, Adam Bellcorelli,James Michelson,Vicky Redlin,Caroline Panske STAFF:Assistant Planner Alexa Naudziunas 1.Call to Order Mr.Michelson called the meeting to order at 4:03 p.m. 2.Approval of August 15,2016 Meeting Minutes Ms. BellCorelli commented that his name was written twice in the present section of the minutes.Ms.Panske moved to approve August 15,2016 meeting minutes as amended. Mr.Otto seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. 3.Oregon/Jackson Street Bridge Project –Update The committee discussed the Oregon/Jackson Street Bridge project. Mr. Michelson feels it is necessary to increase the width of the sidewalk on the bridge if it is determined that the bridge will be reconstructed. Mr. Michelson requested more information on the project and hopes to find a way to make a recommendation of the preferred width of the potential sidewalks on a reconstructed bridge.Ms. Naudziunas informed the committee that there is a public input meeting scheduled for October 13th at 5 pm at the Oshkosh Seniors Center. 4.Pedestrian Safety Month –Discussion Ms. Naudziunas explained that Jim Collins Transportation Director has begun preliminary plans to help improve the safety of navigating roundabouts as a pedestrian. Ms. Naudziunas would like to include the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee in the process.Ms. Naudziunas she will continue to update the committee on the planning process. 5.Bicycle and Pedestrian Circulation Plan Update Ms. Naudziunas discussed the plan to update the Bicycle and Pedestrian Circulation Plan over winter. She explained that each chapter will be reviewed with the committee and any routes changes will also be reviewed. 6.Agenda Items for the Future Meeting(s) The committee expressed an interest in learning more about the Jackson/Oregon Street Bridge and inviting Michelle Bachaus to the next meeting. 7.Adjournment Mr.Bellcorelli moved to adjourn the meeting and Ms. Redlin seconded the motion.
