HomeMy WebLinkAbout5-19-16 MINUTESBICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES –May 19, 2016 PRESENT:Jay Stengel,Tom Otto, Adam Bellcorelli,James Michelson,Vicky Redlin,Steve Gohde STAFF:Assistant Planner Alexa Naudziunas 1.Call to Order Mr.Michelson called the meeting to order at 4:03 p.m. 2.Approval of April 21,2016 Meeting Minutes Mr. Otto moved to approve April 21,2016 meeting minutes.Mr.Bellcorelli seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. 3.Sidewalk Request –Ferry Crossing Neighborhood Association Ms. Naudziunas explained that Jennifer Benson has been working with city staff to complete an application for the Great Neighborhoods Program. Ms. Benson explained that a number of crosswalks in her neighborhood are not compliant with the American Disabilities Act. The committee reviewed each of the photos that were provided and expressed a desire to support this project. Mr. Otto made a motion to fully support this project proposal and Ms. Panske seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. 4.Bike Registration Fee –Discussion Ms. Naudziunas explained that representatives from the Oshkosh Police Department requested that the committee discuss this topic. The committee decided to skip this item since there was no one present from the Police Department to add additional comments on the topic. 5.Summer Farmers Market Table –Discussion Ms. Naudziunas asked the committee if they would be willing to volunteer select Saturday mornings at the Oshkosh Farmers Market to host an educational table. The committee expressed a desire to continue their outreach strategy at the market. 6.Spring Bike Event -Update Ms. Naudziunas explained to the committee that this coming Saturday,May 21st 2016 is BikeOsh. The event planning group has been working on this event since the winter and they have everything ready for the weekend.Ms. Naudziunas urged all committee members to attend this event. 7.Agenda Items for the Future Meeting(s) Mr. Michelson requested that the committee review the Strava data from the 2015 National Bike Month Challenge later in the summer.The committee expressed an interest in learning more about the Jackson/Oregon Street Bridge and the sidewalks in front of the Packers Pub. 8.Adjournment Mr.Otto moved to adjourn the meeting and Mr. Bellcorelli seconded the motion.
