HomeMy WebLinkAboutDiscussion Item- Acquisition PolicyTO:City of Oshkosh Redevelopment Authority FROM:Allen Davis, Community Development Director DATE:May 12, 2016 SUBJECT:Discussion: Acquisition Policy Discussion: Acquisition Policy Staff has prepared a listing of criteria that could be used for developing an Acquisition Policy. That criteria and a Map of the existing Neighborhood Associations is attached.Since there are so many possible criteria, a discussion of the criteria should include RDA priorities. In reviewing past acquisitions, the highest priorities seem to have been: 1.Blighted conditions of the structure. 2.Location of the structure. -Redevelopment Area. -Consistent with a Neighborhood Plan-Visibility 3.Cost of the acquisition/demolition –back taxes, assessments, hazardous material removal, and demolition costs. 4.Potential Re-use of the property -Redevelopment-Combination with neighboring parcels. -Public improvements planned -Possible sale price 5.Potential Impact on the neighborhood. The City of Oshkosh creates and maintains GIS maps and data for its own use. They may show theapproximate relative location of property, boundaries and other feature from a variety of sources. Thesemap(s)/datasets are provided for information purposes only and may not be sufficient or appropriate forlegal, engineering, or surveying purposes.
