ANALYSISThe City and RDA approved the redevelopment of a green space/pocket park immediately to the west. The small parcel in question could be retained as part of the public space. However, the adjoining neighbor to the east expressed interest in buying the property due to their lack of any yard space on their property. As the parcel map indicates, the small parcel appears to have been split from the parentparcel, and selling the small parcel to the neighbor would restore the lot to its original size, consistent with the rest of the lots on the block and in the neighborhood. FISCAL IMPACT The City Assessor placed a value on the small parcel of $4,375. The Loftons have offered to purchase the parcel for $4,375.
