HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 3-29 ADVISORY BOARD OF THE OSHKOSH SENIORS CENTER MEETING MINUTES, March 29, 2016 PRESENT: Cynthia Thorpe, Bob Cornell, Liz Hintz, Xandy Kloeckl, Vicki Leichtfuss, Ann Marie Kosek, Diane King, Mary Wiedenmeier, Bruce Abraham, Sandy Noe, Judy Smith Excused: Gary Konrad Absent: Roberta Messer STAFF: Mark Ziemer, Bobbie Luft, Ray Maurer Cynthia called the meeting to order at 3:30 pm, and welcomed new Advisory Board Member Liz Hintz. Approval of February 23, 2016 Minutes: Sandy Noe was present at the last meeting. Sandy moved to accept the corrected minutes adding Sandy Noe as present. Vicki seconded. All in favor. Minutes approved as corrected. Discussion Topics: Cynthia encouraged the new Board Members to read the Vision 2020 that was included in their binders to get a feel for their idea of a name change for the Center. Bruce suggested to have a committee to discuss the 5 why’s pertaining to the name change and narrow thoughts down and then gather more information from participants. He stated there would be representation from each board or committee and the representative will take back information discussed and gather views to bring back to the committee. Action Items: Governance-Bob: Bob stated the Governance Committee voted to bring to the board Robert Kolinski (Bob) as a member, to begin next month. He gave a brief description of his background. Diane moved to accept Bob as a board member. Mary seconded. All in favor. Motion carried to accept Bob as a board member. Information Reports/questions or concerns: Governance Report: attached Committee on Aging Report: Did not meet, no quorum Fund Raising Report: Murder Mystery Dinner Tickets 27 sold out of 100-26 bottles of wine last year there were 40, if donating wine please donate white, ticket cost $50 $30 is tax deductible Bruce passed around a fund raiser called Country Ovens-50% profit Mary spoke of Blingo which is an upscale version of bingo Diane announced the FOSC will no longer support Fall Family Fun Fest-the profit without items donated and the bake sale was $124 Granny Smith run had 24 people outside of the 100 participants from Provident Looking ag Food Truck Friday at South Park with beer/wine, band, and 50/50 raffle Bake sale during elections will include pizza and chili as well as baked goods
