Historic Jackson Drive City of Oshkosh Community Development Department 215 Church Avenue, Oshkosh, WI 54901 TO: Honorable Mayor and Members of the Common Council FROM: Shelly Reinke, Neighborhood Coordinator DATE: April 28, 2016 SUBJECT: Recognition of the Historic Jackson Drive Neighborhood Association The subject neighborhood association held a general membership meeting on Wednesday, April 27, 2016. Twenty-one attendees voted on neighborhood boundaries, a neighborhood name, and adopted organizational by-laws, in accordance with the City’s Neighborhood Recognition Policy. The Historic Jackson Drive Neighborhood Association’s (HJDNA) boundaries are as follows: North: Murdock Avenue (south side only); South: Church Avenue (north side only); West: Jackson Street, all properties with street frontage; East: Jackson Street, all properties with street frontage, except those that lie in the 500 and 600 blocks (evenly numbered), which are currently part of the Middle Village Neighborhood Association. Upon the creation HJDNA, the number of recognized neighborhood associations in Oshkosh is now twelve. City recognition will allow HJDNA to access funding through the Community Building & Engagement Program to support neighborhood events, projects, and activities. In addition, HJDNA will be eligible to apply for Great Neighborhoods funding to support capital improvements in their neighborhood and property owners will be eligible to apply for financial housing incentive programs available only to City of Oshkosh recognized neighborhood associations.
