FOR CONSTRUCTION- RELATED SERVICES FOR NORTH MAIN STREET AREA WET DETENTION BASIN – FERNAU WATERSHED ($267,229.00) INITIATED BY: DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that the proper City officials are hereby authorized to enter into and take those steps necessary to implement an appropriate professional services agreement with AECOM Technical Services, Inc. for construction-related services associated with the construction of the North Main Street Area Wet Detention Basin – Fernau Watershed. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that money for this purpose is hereby appropriated from: Acct. No. 561-2010-1799-00000 Storm Utility- Construction in Progress � O HKO H ON THE WATER MEMORANDUM TO: Honorable Mayor and Members of the C n Council FROM: James Rabe, Director of Public Works DATE: April 21, 2016 RE: Agreement for Engineering Services for Construction-Related Services for North Main Street Area Wet Detention Basin — Fernau Watershed / AECOM Technical Services, I nc. (AECOM) ($267,229) BACKGROUND The Department of Public Works requested a proposal from AECOM to provide construction-related services associated with the construction of the North Main Street Area Wet Detention Basin-Fernau Watershed. These construction-related services will include, but are not limited to: construction oversight, construction testing and documentation, and preparation of as-built construction drawings. AECOM will also provide services related to any civil or geotechnical engineering issues which may arise during the construction of the project. ANALYSIS AECOM was chosen due to their experience with the Fernau Watershed — North Main Street Area Wet Detention Basin, and their vast experience in performing these types of services for the City. FISCAL IMPACT The proposed fee is not to exceed $267,229. Funding for these services is included in the Storm Water Utility section of the 2016 Capital Improvement Program. RECOMMENDATIONS Chapter 12 of the Municipa/ Code of the City of Oshkosh provides that professional services of a specialized nature, including engineering services, may be procured without the use of formal, sealed quotes. I have reviewed the proposal and in accordance with Section 12-16 of the Code, I am hereby recommending that the Common Council approve this agreement. Approved, �.�--��;�� Mark A.
