HomeMy WebLinkAbout09. 16-172APRIL 12, 2016 16-172 RESOLUTION (CARRIED__6-0____ LOST _______ LAID OVER _______ WITHDRAWN _______) PURPOSE: AWARD BID FOR PUBLIC WORKS CONTRACT NO. 16-18 TO RJM CONSTRUCTION, LLC FOR WATER FILTRATION PLANT STORAGE BUILDING ($164,200.00) INITIATED BY: DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS WHEREAS, the City of Oshkosh has heretofore advertised for bids for construction of a storage building for the Water Filtration Plant; and WHEREAS, upon the opening and tabulation of bids, it appears that the following is the most advantageous bid: RJM CONSTRUCTION, LLC 601 West Forest Street Black Creek, WI 54106 Total Bid Base Bid: $164,200.00 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that the said bid is hereby accepted and the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to enter into an appropriate agreement for the purpose of same, all according to plans, specifications, and bid on file. Money for this purpose is hereby appropriated from: Acct. Brand, Public Works Utility Bureau Manager��l� DATE: April 7, 2016 RE: Award Bid for Public Works Contract No. 16-18 Water Filtration Plant Storage Building RJM Construction, LLC / $164,200 BACKGROUND In order to provide proper storage of Water Filtration Plant vehicles and gas-powered equipment, a vehicle and equipment storage building was approved as part of the 2014 Water Utility Property Improvements Capital Improvements Program (CIP). Vehicles are currently kept outside and lawn and snow removal gas- powered equipment are kept in the Water Filtration Plant Building. This project has been carried over from previous CIP years and is now ready for construction. ANALYSIS Staff and AECOM Technical Services, Inc., our project engineering consultant, reviewed two bids. The low bid was received from RJM Construction, LLC of Black Creek, Wisconsin. The alternate bid item for the retaining wall removal and re-grading of the 1985 pump station was not chosen to be added to this project. The total bid is $164,200. FISCAL IMPACT This project is funded in the Property Improvements Section of the 2016 Capital Improvements Program for $200,000. RECOMMENDATIONS I recommend award to the low bidder, RJM Construction, LLC in the amount of $164,200. Approved: .�d----/p ' Mark A.
