PURPOSE: AWARD BID TO MICHELS MATERIALS AND MCC, INC., FOR
ROAD MATERIALS / VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS
INITIATED BY: PURCHASING DIVISION
WHEREAS, the City of Oshkosh has heretofore advertised for bids for the purchase
of a road materials for construction projects for various departments; and
WHEREAS, upon the opening and tabulation of bids, it appears that the following is
the most advantageous bids:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of
Oshkosh that the said bid is hereby accepted and the proper City officials are hereby
authorized and directed to enter into an appropriate agreement for the purpose of same, all
according to plans, specifications, and bid on file. Money for this purpose is hereby
appropriated from:

Award Bid for Road Materials for multiple departmental accounts to Michels
Materials and MCC Inc. (various amounts)
BACKGROUND
Each year the multiple departments utilize vendors to provide road materials used in road repairs
and construction projects. These materials include concrete, cement and stones.
ANALYSIS
Working in conjunction with the Street Division, Purchasing reviewed and prepared proposals
seeking vendors for road materials. Bid requests were sent to vendors who have bid in previous
years. Bids were received March 14, 2016. The bid tab is attached.
FISCAL IMPACT
These road materials are purchased out of the multiple departmental accounts (XXX-XXXX-
6565-XXXXX). Appropriate funds have been allocated in various 2016 departmental accounts
for the purchase of these road materials for construction projects.
RECOMMENDATION
Working with the Street Division, Purchasing reviewed the bids and is recommending the
Common Council award road material bids to the following vendors with bid amounts and
quantities more/less as indicated on the attached bid tabulation: Breaker Run, Base Course, Clear
Stone and Crushed Limestone Materials- Michels Materials and Ready-Mix Concrete and #2
Slurry Mix- MCC Inc.
