PURPOSE: AWARD BID TO JIM’S GOLF CARS INC. FOR ELECTRIC UTILITY
CARTS FOR PARKS DEPARTMENT ($25,181.40)
INITIATED BY: PURCHASING DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Oshkosh has heretofore advertised for bids for the purchase
of two electric utility carts for the Parks Department; and
WHEREAS, upon the opening and tabulation of bids, it appears that the following is
the most advantageous bid:

Total Bid: $25,181.40
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of
Oshkosh that the said bid is hereby accepted and the proper City officials are hereby
authorized and directed to enter into an appropriate agreement for the purpose of same, all
according to plans, specifications, and bid on file. Money for this purpose is hereby
appropriated from:
Acct. No. 255-0610-7204-00000 Parks Revenue Facilities – Machinery and

Award Bid for Electric Utility Carts for Parks Department to Jim's Golf Cars Inc.
($25,181.40)
BACKGROUND
The 2416 operating budget for the Parks Revenue Facilities Fund and the Parks Department
included a total of $27,000 in funding for purchasing two electric utility carts. These carts will be
used to haul supplies and transport staff in performing maintenance tasks within city parks in
addition to the Leach Amphitheatre and along the Riverwalk. These new carts will replace older
units that were retired due to age/condition or consolidated from various Parks operations.
ANALYSIS
Working with the Parks Department, Purchasing reviewed and prepared bid specifications
seeking vendors for these carts. Bids were received on March 2, 2016. The bid tab is attached.
Staff analysis has concluded the sole bid from Jim's Golf Cars Inc. met the minimum bid
speciiications.
FISCAL IMPACT
The total fiscal impact of these units is $25,181.40. These carts were budgeted in the 2016 Parks
Revenue Facilities Fund ($15,OOQ) and Parks Operations Budget ($12,000) for a total of $27,000
available. The first $15,000 of the carts cost will be charged to the Parks Revenue Facilities Fund
(A/N#: 255-0610-7204-00000) and the $10,181.40 balance will be charged to the Parks
Operations Budget (A/N#: 100-0610-7204-00000).
RECOMMENDATION
Purchasing recommends
$25,181.40.
