SUBJECT: Recognition of the Lumber River Neighborhood Association
September 2015, Planning Services staff began working closely with a core group of dedicated
residents in a collaborative effort to establish the City of Oshkosh's tenth recognized neighborhood
association.
Following several planning meetings with the core group of residents and Planning Services staff, a
general membership meeting was held on November 10, 2015, where attendees voted on boundaries
and adopted by-laws for their new neighborhood association, in accordance with the City's
Neighborhood Recognition Policy. The Lumber River Neighborhood Association's boundaries are as
follows:
North: Murdock Avenue; South: New York and the Algoma Boulevard Historic District;
East: Elmwood Avenue; West: Fox River
Upon the creation of the Lumber River Neighborhood Association, the number of recognized
neighborhood associations in Oshkosh will be ten. City recognition will allow Lumber River
Neighborhood Association to access funding through the Community Building & Engagement
Program to support neighborhood events, projects, and activities. In addition, the Lumber River
Neighborhood Association will be eligible to apply for Great Neighborhoods funding to support capital
improvements in their neighborhood.
Please advise me if you have any questions concerning the recognition of the Lumber River
