PURPOSE: APPROVE AMENDMENT TO ENGINEERING SERVICES
AGREEMENT WITH BROWN & CALDWELL FOR DESIGN & BID
SUPPORT FOR FERNAU AVENUE WATERSHED / NORTH MAIN
STREET AREA DETENTION BASIN ($31,523.00)

BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that the proper
City officials are hereby authorized to enter into and take those steps necessary to
implement an appropriate amendment to the professional services agreement with Brown
& Caldwell for design and bid support services for the Fernau Avenue watershed / North
Main Street area detention basin, in the amount of Thirty-One-Thousand-Five-Hundred-
Twenty-Three and 00/100 ($31,523.00).

Watershed I North Main S[reet Area Detention Basin
Brown and Caldwell ($31,523)
BACKGROUND
A pmfessional services agreement for design and bid support services for the Femau Avenue
Watershed/NOrth Main Street Area tletention basin with Brown and Caldwell was approved by the Common
Council on January 13, 2015. During the course of this design, it became apparent that atlditional
engineering-related services were necessary in order to successfully complete the design.
ANALYSIS
Additional engineering-relatetl services were required to address additional state and (ederal permit
applications required due to design changes, the tlesign of a new storm sewer / enclosed waterway crossing
of North Main Street, coordination with another engineering frm to aid in their design of a basin untlerdrain
system, and to deal with unanticipated wetlands on the project site.
FISCAL IMPACT
Staffhasreviewedtheamendmentandcosts. Theamountofthisagreementamendmentis$31,523. This
will reise the total agreement amount to $110,923 (not to ezceed). These services will be funded through
the Storm Water Utility. Funding is available within the 2015 Capital Improvement Program for these
SCfVIG25.
Chapter 12 of the Municipal Code o(the Cityo�Oshkosh provitles that professional services of a specialized
nature, inclutling engineering senices, may be procured wi[hout the use of formal, sealed quotes. I have
reviewed [he proposal and in accortlance with Section 1&16 of the Cotle, I am hereby recommending tha[
