1.Call to Order
Mr.Bellcorelli called the meeting to order at 4:02 p.m.
2.Approval of December 17,2015 Meeting Minutes
Ms. Redlin moved to approve December 17th 2015 meeting minutes.Mr.Rennert seconded the
motion. Motion carried unanimously.
3.Spring Bike Event -Discussion
Ms. Naudziunas expressed her appreciation for Ms. Redlin and Mr. Bellcorelli volunteering their
time to serve on the event planning committee for the spring biking event. Ms. Naudziunas
explained the committee has been meeting and the event planning process has begun. The date
for the event is May 21st 2016.
4.2016 Bike Facility Prioritization –Discussion
Ms. Naudziunas explained to the committee that they will need to begin prioritizing the 2016
routes. Ms. Naudziunas requested that the committee begin thinking about the current and
future bike facility implementation.
5.Transportation Alternatives Program –Update
Ms. Naudziunas updated the committee on the application submittal for the WisDot
Transportation Alternatives Program.In collaboration with city staff, Ms. Naudziunas facilitated
the Transportation Alternatives Program application due on January 29, 2016.Ms. Naudziunas
explained that staff met to determine an appropriate project to pursue and selected the
Heritage Trail connection through the Lake Shore Municipal Golf Course which is proposed to
continue into Rainbow Park.
6.Capital Improvement Program Review –
Ms. Naudziunas referenced the copies of the 2016-2020 Capital Improvement Program packet
that were distributed to each committee member.Steve Gohde, Public Works Engineer,
reviewed each proposed item within the packet.Mr. Gohde recommended the committee
support sidewalk installations at the Bowen Pier and Mill Pier.The committee discussed each
site in detail. Ms. Redlin made a motion to recommend sidewalks on one side of Bowen Street
and Mr. Rennert seconded. Motion carried unanimously. Mr. Otto made a motion to
recommend sidewalks on the east side of Mill Street and Mr. Rennert seconded the motion.
Motion carried unanimously.The committee discussed the potential opportunity to install
sidewalks on South Park between 20th Avenue and Koeller Street. The committee discussed the
necessity to have a 6 foot or wider sidewalk in this area. Mr. Otto made a motion to
recommend 6 foot or wider sidewalks on the north side of South Park Avenue and Ms. Redlin
seconded the motion.
7.Agenda Items for the Future Meeting(s)
The committee requested that a representative from the Department of Transportation attend
the February meeting to discuss the Jackson Street roundabout.
8.Adjournment
Ms. Redlin moved to adjourn the meeting and Mr. Bellcorelli seconded the motion. Motion
carried unanimously at 5:20 p.m.
