TO THE CITY OF OSHKOSH AND SPECIFICALLX TO THE 13th WARD OF SAID CITY.
SvHEREAS, an annexation petition duly circulated has hereto£ore
been signed by the owners of more than one-half o£ the land in the
area with.in such terr.itory, there b�ir�y no electors residiny in sai.d
territory, notice of intention to circulate an anner.ation petitiou for
direct annexation having been duly published, and a co�y of said

haring been duly served upoe the municipal clerks and the Uirector of

Sec[ion 66.021 (ll), Wis. Stats.� provides that the anne�cation of lands
to cities and villages wi[hin a county having a population of 50�000 or
more be reviewed 6y our Department in order to determine if the proposed
annexation is against the public interest.
The proposed annexation from the Town of Aleoma to [he
Ci4y of 1➢shkosh (see attached description and map) is
required to be reviewed by the above s[atute. To assist us in carrying out
this review, we would appreciate receiving from you any pertinent data or
information that would indicate whether or not the anneua[ion is against
the public interest, especially comment bearing on the s[atutory defin3tion
of public interest, tha[ is, "Whether the govemmental services, including
zoning, to be supplied to the terri[ory could clearly be better supplied by
the town..." and the "shape of the proposed annexation and the homogeneity
of the territory with [he annexing city or village."
