WFiEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh has
been reguested by various citizens and citizen groups to
consider the Glatz property as a public park site, and
WHER�AS, the lands for acquisition of park sites have
been considered desirable by the fed2ral and state government
and to the extent that moneys are available, the federal and
state government will participate in the acquisition thereo£,
and
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh is
interested in determining whether or not moneys are available
from either federal or state sources through a LAWCON and/or
any other moneys made available by either the state or
federal government for acguisition of public lands particularly
lands for park sites and/or natural and historical sites,
and
WEIEREAS, said participation by such federal and/or
state agencies would aid this Council in determining the
financial feasibility of the acguisition of the Glatz property.
NOW, TAEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of
the City of Oshkosh that tne proper City officials are
hereby authorized and directed to determine whether any
state and/or federal funds, particularly LAWCON, are available
for the ac3uisition of the Glatz °roperty and/or nature
conservatory for public purposes including but not limited
to the following: park, Nature Conservatory, natural and/or
historical site. -
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Common Council that the
proper City officizls are hereby authorized to do all things
necessary to file an apprcpriate federal or state application
for funding including procuring an appraisal and option for
said property at a cost not to exceed $1,000.00. Money for
this purpose is hereby appropriated £rom the Park Acquisition
Fund.
