Warner Cable of Oshkosh has received permission from the
Federal Communications Commission to carry the following
additional channels on its Oshkosh cable system.
WTMJ-TV Ch. 4 Milwaukee
WITI-TV Ch. 6 Milwaukee
WISN-TV Ch.12 Milwaukee
Based on information received from our subscribers in
Oshkosh, we are confident that there is a strong appeal
for these additional channels. We feel that it will be
clearly in the community's best interest to add these new
signals to our carriage. We will, therefore, appreciate
the approval of the City of Oshkosh of our proposal to
rearrange our channel offerings as described below.
There will be four (4) cable channels effected by this
proposal. They include cable channels, 5, 9, 10 and 11.
Channel 5- This channel is currently designated
as the municipal channel and we would propose to
carry channel 12 (WISN-TV) Milwaukee. The municipal
programming which may be required in the future
would be carried on cable channel 12 (local origination).
Channel 8- This channel currently carries channel 21
(WHA-TV) Madison. We would convert it to channel 4
(WTMJ-TV) Milwaukee.

Channel 10 - This channel now carries channel 10
(WPiVS-TV Milwaakee and would become channel 6
(WITI-TV) Milwaukee.
Channel 11 - This channel is currently dedicated to
public access and is black when not in use. We would
plan to continue to devote this channel to public
access but when not being used for public access, we
would carry Reuters Stock and Financial News as a
filler.
The effect of these changes would allow us to bring to the
viewing public three (3) Milwaukee channels that we believe
have sL-rong appeal in Oshkosh. We would be eliminating two
(2) educational stations (WHA-TV, Madison and WMVS-TV,
Milwaukee) from our carriage. We should point out, however,
that we will continue to carry educational channel 38 (WPNE,
Green Bay) on cable channel 6. Our investigations indicate
that the programmin9 on the two (2) channels that we aze
dropping, £or the most part, was duplicative of the program-
ming on channel 38. We believe that our subscribers would
also agree with this.
We should also point out that because of Federal Communica-
tions Commission rules (Paragraph 76.91), the three (3)
Milwaukee channels can only be carried when not duplicating
the three (3) network channels from Green Bay.
Because o£ the time involved in the ordering, delivesy and
installation of the additi_onal equipment needed for this
project, we will appreciate your approval o£ our proposal
as soon as possible. Should additional information be re-
guired, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Sincerely,
WAR CABLE OF OSHKOSH, INC.
