that the proper City officials are hereby authorized and di663tW odview
to enter into an aPPropriate agreement with J. B• Clemens,
Drive, Noblesville, Indiana 46060 for the p=eparation o£ £ive (5)
exhibits for the Oshkosh Public Museum� all in accordance with
Exhibit "A" attached hereto. Cost for said preparation of projects
described in the attachment shall not exceed $16,500. Money for
this purpose is hereby appxopriated £rom the 1975 Museum Budget.

EXHIBIT "A"
The contractor, J. B. Clemens 663 Woodview Drive
Noblesville, Indiana 46060, will be responsible for
designing and building four dioramas and two foreshortened
models to be mounted on the back wall inside museum cases.�
These are described below. He will deliver the basic
components to the museum and install them in the cases
provided.
AIl work is to be executed in accordance with the highest
museum standards. M aterials are to be permanent. Colors
are to be colorfast to com mercial standards. Full sized
figures are to be dressed in fabric ciothing which is
historically correct as to texture, thickness and color.
Comprehensive sketches for all four dioramas and the two
models will be submitted to the museum staft for approval
before work is begun. For the two dioramas with b inch-
figures and the two models the number of three dimensional
figures to be included will be indicated.
Drawings of the cases into which the four dioramas are to
be installed wili be submitted by the contractor far enough
in advance so that they may be constructed and finished
before the dioramas are delivered. These drawings will be
detailed enough so that there can 6e no misunderstandings
about size.
It is expected that the contractor will complete all work
before August 30, 1975.
1. Beaver Diorama - approximately 30 square feet. This
diorame will contain 6" figures depictiny beaver hunters at
work. The figures and diorama will be furnished by the
contractor. The exhibit case proper will be furnished by the
museum. The cost of this diorama will be $3,500.
2. The French Missionary Diorama—approximately 16 feet
wide. This �orama wilrcontain a�ull size figure carrying
a birch bark canoe with the backqround painted to show several
figures reloading canoes at water's edge. The contractor will
furnish the full size figure and paint the scene on the background.
He will also install all diorama elements such as rocks, trees,
earth, etc. The museum will furnish the diorama shell, birch
bark canoe and will provide help to the contractor in collecting
the natura� elements for the diorama. The cost of this diorama
will be $5,000.

3. The Garlic Island Soldier Diorama - contains a full
size ligure nuaa�rea over a simu(ate�camp fire with a rifle
(optional) lying along side. (The rifle is to be furnished
by the museum.) The entire scene will be in a wooded area
with patches of snow on the ground. The walls surrounding
the scene (furnished by the museum) will be textured, The
contractor will furnish the figure, simulated fire and install
the ground as explained above. The cost of this diorama is
$6,000.
4. The Garlic Island Diorama - this diorama approximately
3 1 square feet will contain 6" figures in an atmosphere
comparable to the Army of the Potomac at Valley Forge,
Pennsylvania. The tents, figures and diorama elements will
be furnished by the contractor. The exhibit case proper will
be furnished by the museum. The cost of this diorama is $4,000.
5. The Fox Massacre and French Vignettes - will depict these
events with small figures of approximately 3 inches. As
vignettes they will be displayed within exhibit cases furnished
by the museum. The cost of these two vignettes if $1,000.
The total cost of the a6ove installations will be $16,500
Payment wi�l be forwarded to the contractor with the delivery
of each diorama to the museum. In the case of dioramas being
installed 6y the contractor in the museum, payment will be
made upon completion of the diorama. Regular City of Oshkosh
payment procedures will be followed,
Payment (or the supervision of additional construction,
consultation or planning not covered by the above parayraphs
will be accomplished by the contractor keeping a running log
of all time used in this manner. He will then present a
statement to the museum upon completion of his work at the
museum. The cost of these services will be based upon a fee
of $ 2 5 per hour. To help bring this building project to a
successFui conclusion, the museum director will furnish to
the contractor on a no charge basis staff personnel as needed
as well as museum equipment as needed in the building of
exhibits and the collecting oF elements to be used in the
exhibits program .
