BACKGROUND Three of these ordinances involve cleaning up the Municipal Code to match actual signage and conditions. The fourth ordinance extends a Monday Ihrough Friday pazkig resViction to include weekends. ANALYSIS Southland Avenue — This parking restriction was reques[ed by West High School. When a loading zone was created on the north side of Southland Avenue in 2012, i[ created an unintended 252 foot gap be[ween the loading zone and no pazking zone. The school reques[ed that this be cleaned up in the code aud signed. Church Avenue — This parking restrictio is wrrently in place Monday [hru Friday. The Police Department requested this cestcictiou be extended to Saturday as well. 'Ihe Police Department pu[ up [emporary no parking signs every Saturday moming during [he Farmers Market. This is cumbersome [o do 21 weeks a year. The resViction is necessary because the linc of sight is restric[ed due to the angled intersection wi[h Divisio Street. The Police Department has discussed this wi[h Mr. Leathemian from the Farmers Mazket and he has no issues with this parking restriction. 7`h Avenue - This item involves cleaning up the Municipal Code so the code matches the ac[ual signage and conditions. There is a fire hydrant and driveway where the additional 29 feet of pazking is being removed. Minneso[a Street — This area is already signed as 2 hour pazking but it is not in [he Municipal Code. We aze requesting to add it to the code. FISCAL IMPACT The only fiscal impact of these ordinances is the cost of signage which would come ou[ of the Sign DepartmenYs operating budget. RECOMMENDATION I rewmmend the Common Council approve these oidinances [o be added to Section 27A-11 which regula[es parking on designated stree[s and alleys. Respectfully Submitted, 4 — _ Jim Collins Dicector of Tiansportation Approved: //Q---i$L l""'.C Mazk A. Rohloff City Managec
