HomeMy WebLinkAboutPUC Meeting Minutes Nov 2015Parking Utility Commission Date: 11-11-15 Location: City Hall 1 Attendees: Jim Collins – Transportation Director Timothy Schuster - Chairman Marlene Binder - Secretary Dan Schetter, Best Western Chandra Anderson - Vice-Chair Phil Baron, Walker Consultants Steve Herman - Board Jim Corbett, Walker Consultants Mary Murken - Board Topic Facilitator Discussion Actions Meeting Started Meeting Minutes Timothy Schuster The PUC meeting was called to order at 4:03 p.m. Accept September 9, 2015 meeting minutes. 1st: Jay Ratchman 2nd: Chanda Anderson Overnight parking in Riverside Parking Lot Jim Collins Dan Schetter Jim Collins said the hotel requested overnight parking in the Riverside Lot for vehicles that do not fit in the ramp, such as a bus. Dan Schetter, of the Best Western Hotel, said there are 176 rooms in the hotel and 200 parking spaces in the ramp. He explained there are times when the Convention Center and the hotel have multiple events on the same evening which creates a parking shortage. He told that vehicles such buses, motor homes and those towing boats or trailers cannot access the ramp. He requests overnight parking in the Riverside Parking Lot for those times when guests cannot park in the ramp. There was discussion. Jim Collins will discuss the matter further with city staff and the parking consultants and report back to the Board. In the meantime, he said he would ask the police department to not ticket in this lot if the hotel calls in advance to request the limited overnight parking.
