the area being sought to be annexed to the Ci�y of Oshkosh, said area
being more particularly described in a certain petition for direct
annexation to the City of Oshkosh, commonly referred to as the
Eighth Addition to Nicolet Anchorage
and
annexa'tion,

of this petition does not in any matter attem,pt to malce said petition
for direct annexation conditional upon this petition or the ac�tion
taken by the said Common Council pursuant to this petition.

Section 66.021 (11), Wis. Stats., provides that the annexation of lands
to cities and villages within a county having a population of 50,000 or
more be reviewed by our Department in order to determine if the proposed
annexation is against the public interest.
The proposed annexation from the Town of Oshkosh to the
City of Oshkosh (see attached description and map) is
required to be reviewed by the above statute. To assist us in carrying out
this review, we would appreciate receiving from you any pertinent data or
information that would indicate whether or not the annexation is against
the public interest, especially comment bearing on the statutory definition
of public interest, that is, "Whether the governmental services, including
zoning, to be supplied to the territory could clearly be better supplied by
the town..." and the "shape of the proposed annexation and the homogeneity
of the territory with the annexing city or village."
If you have any co�mments please mail them by May 27, 1976
A notice will be mailed to you on June 6, 1976 , only if the

Following the submittal of the Williams Property annexation our Department
forwarded the property map and description to Mr. Rex Hinrichs, Department
of Transportation for his review.
We note that he found a minor discrepancy in that the map shows 477 feet
along the southern border of the larger parcel in the proposed annexation
while the description cites this as 447 feet. This finding does not affect
the substance of our review, and we have not found this proposed annexation
to be against the public interest.
When filing this petition with the Secretary of State it is hoped that these
