Wi-�REAS, laboratory analyses has indicated that a system of cl�yr
polyrrer and a relatively srr►311 airotmt of altml will provide distinct
advantages to the treatrr�nt of water for the City of Oshkosh, t�o-wit:
i�rovement of finished water turbidity conditions, rrore desirable finished
water pH, reduced treat�nexit costs, a lessor generation of al�n sludge, and
the elimination of reflocculation of soluble altunina in the water
distribution system; and
WF�P�AS, approximately $5,000. -$6,000. is needed for a chemi.cal feed�ex
for this system; and
WHEREAS, there would be great difficulty in obtaining corr�petitive
bids for the polymer; an:�
WHEREAS, the cost of the clay, polymer and chemical feeder would be
offset by a reduction in altnn purchases;
NOW Tf-�REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Ca�ron Council of the City of
Oshkosh that the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to
purchase an arrount of clay and polyir�er from Naloo Chemical Company, 2901
Butterfield Road, Oa}: Brook, Illinois 60521 for a sum not to exceed
$6,600.00 and to enter into an agreetrent with Nalco Chemical Corr�any for the
use of a chemical feeder for a 45 day trial period. rioney for this purpose
