The Index is organized alphabetically by control unit manufacturer. Each manufacturer's listing specifies a control unit, the applicable loop style(formerly Class A or B wiring►,the control unit compatibility identification, the maximum number of ESL detectors allowable per initiating circuit and the ESL Compatibility Identifier. To use this index: • First, look up the control unit and determine the ESL Compatibility Identifier. • Next, turn to the Identifier Cross Reference List to determine the ESL detectors (and Bases)which are compatible. • We have provided the Identifier Cross Reference List sorted by both Identifier Number and Detector Model Number for your convenience. This listing should provide you with all the information you require for determination of compatibility. It should also be sufficient information to answer any questions raised by the AHJ(Authority Having Jurisdiction►on any projects. Please have the name of the control unit manufacturer and control unit description handy when you call Technical Services at 1-800-648-7424,so we can provide you with the correct information. fire Sensors and Control Units and their compatibility are subject to change without notice. ESL has made every attempt to provide complete, accurate and up-to-date information. We are not responsible for omissions or errors. If you would like ESL to add a new panel to its compatibility listings, please contact ESL Marketing at 1-800-547-2556. Please have the name of the control unit manufacturer and control unit description handy when you call. Note on Four-Wire Detectors: Four-Wire Detector Compatability listings are not required by UL,therefore no Four-Wire Detectors are included in the compatability index.A Four-Wire Detector is considered compatible if the voltage range of the detector equals or exceeds the voltage range of the control panel power supply, and if sufficient current is available to insure the operation of all detectors. Note on Carbon Monoxide Detectors: Carbon Monoxide combatibility listings are not required by UL,therefore no Carbon Monoxide Detectors are included in the compatability index.A Carbon Monoxide Detector is considered compatible if the voltage range of the detector equals or exceeds the voltage range of the control panel power supply, and if sufficient current is available to insure the operation of all detectors. ESL 500N Series Low-profile two-and four-wire photoelectric smoke detectors Overview The ESL 500N series two-and four-wire conventional photoelectric smoke detectors bring together trusted technology and a full line of features to meet the demands of every type of application. The 500N offers sounder models in two-and four-wire applications, specifically / to meet residential code requirements. The 521 NCSXT has the additional benefit of low current draw which makes it compatible with a wide variety of control panels. The ESL 500N series also offers ¢ ; choices for optional auxiliary relays and isolated heat sensors, not 4 available before in the ESL 500 series. f ESL offers CleanMeO,dust compensation, field replaceable optical chambers, multiple criteria heat algorithms, and self-diagnostics features. Outstanding Features The ESL 500N series detectors work on the light-scattering principle. A pulsed infrared light-emitting diode serves as the light source, and a high-speed photo diode as the sensing element. This design has Standard Features superior protection agains false/nuisance alarms caused by dust, insects,AF,and ambient light. The proprietary optical chamber is field replaceable. ° Built-in sounder available in two-and four-wire models • Patented CleanMefeature A confirmed alarm causes the LED to light continuously. The unit • Built-in dust compensation indicates trouble by flashing the LED every second. This meets the • Field-replaceable optical chamber NFPA 72 field sensitivity testing requirements.Units with built-in 85dBa sounders emit a temporal 3 pattern when in alarm and will emit a steady tone when ihe input power is reversed. All wiring terminates in clamp-type screw terminals. The detectors mount to a standard single-gang electrical box,a 4-inch octagonal box,a 4-inch square electrical box,or WIREMOLD No.5739 fixture box. i Speciticarons E/echica/ Environmental •Power supply,6/12 V operation:6.0 to 20 VDC polarity sensitive •Operating temperature, thermal models:32 to 100°f0 to 37°C) •Power supply,12/24 V operation:8.5 to 33 VDC polarity sensitive •Operating temperature, nonthermal models:32 to 120°F0 to 50°C) •Maximum ripple p-p 16/12/24 V:10%(V p-p) •Storage temperature:-4 to 158°F-20 to 70°C) •Typical average standby current:70 uA ✓` ✓ Operating humidity range:0 to 95%noncondensing .Typical alarm current(6/12/24 V►:up to 60 mA max.if not limited by Physical control panel •Detector head dimensions:5.5 in.(140 mm►dia.;2 in.50 mm)high •Auxiliary relay contacts:1.0 A C?30 VDC;Form C •Mounting dimensions:5.25 in.(133 mm)dia.;0.3 in.(8 mm)high •Alarm contacts:500 mA C?36 VDC(resistive) •Weight:9.6 oz.(272 g) Features •Construction:ABS plastic •RFI immunity:20 V/m min.;1 to 1000 MHz Color:White head and base •Field wiring size:12 to 24 AWG;16 to 22 recommended Packaging:10 detectors per carton ,Heat detector, rate of rise:15°F/min(8.3°C/min)and>105°F Regulatory (40.6°C) •UL,CUL,CSfM •Heat detector, fixed threshold:135°F(57.2°C) •UL 2-wire compatibility identifiers:S10A,S11 A •Drift compensation adjustment:1.0%ft.max. •Reset time:1 sec.min. •Photoelectric sensitivity:3.1%+0.5 to 1.0% Related Diagram Ordeiing Infom►ation 521 NCRXT 2-wire,CleanMe,heat sensor,aux.relay,8.5 to 33 VDC, S11A 521 NCSXT 2-wire,CleanMe,heat sensor,sounder,8.5 to 33 VDC, S10A 521 NCSRXT 2-wire,CleanMe,heat sensor,sounder,aux.relay,8.5 to 33 VDC,S11A -- -- , . 541 NB 4-wire,6 to 33 VDC E JI I 1 1 1 I I , N o `r 541 NBXT 4-wire,heat sensor,6 to 33 VDC v / / ; 541 NCSRXT 4-wire,heat sensor,sounder,aux.relay,8.5 to 33 VDC --_ 541NCSXTE 4-wire,heat sensor, sounder, end of line relay,8.5 to 33 VDC 541 NCSRH 4-wire,isolated heat sensor,sounder,aux.relay,8.5 to 33 VDC 541 NCRXT 4-wire,heat sensor,aux.relay,8.5 to 33 VDC 541 NCXTE 4-wire,heat sensor, end of line relay,8.5 to 33 VDC 541 NCSXT Photoelectric 4-wire smoke detector,sounder,8.5 to 33 VDC 503-665-5700 Asia Europe S[,(, GESgCp/fi/ 888-G6SECURITY te1652-2907-8108 te1+44-113-238-1668 (437-3287) fax 652-2142-5063 fax+44-113-253-8121 faxback 800-483-2495 Australia Latin America emailinfoQgesecuriry.com te1+61-3-9259-4700 te1305-267-4301 www.GESecurity.com www_gesecurity.com fax+613-9259-4799 fax305-267-4300 As a comparry of innovation,GE Securiry reserves[he right m change pmduct specifications wiMout notice.Por the latest pmduct specifications, visit GE Securiry online at www.GESeariry.com or contaci your GE Security sales representative.
