After comparing specifications with recommend the bruning machine by Addressograph Corp. vi. . -, .,,. c /G / O MZG Lait " 7 "'-"`-' r ' e machine for the Jerry Konrad, The Dietzgen bid of $6,495, less 1% discount equals $6,430.05. The bid does not include removing of our old machine. After checking with two movi.ng companies, one of which originally moved our old blueprint machine here, the estimated cost would be approximately $250, which includes the use of one maintenance personnel plus someone from engineering for at least 2 hours. The machine would have to be partially dismantled and taken down our steps because it will not fit in the elevator. With this in mind, the bid froc; the Addressograph Corp. of $6,836.55 inctudes removal of the old machine and set up of a new machine. In fact, they will take the old machine anywhere we wouid like in Oshkosh. So, if you take the two net bids of $6,86.55 of Addressograph, and $6,430.05 of the Dietzgen Corporation you have a difference of $t06.50, less $250 for moving expenses with a net difference of $56.50. The real crux comes in service after the saie. Dietzgen Corporation, the apparent low bidder, charges $25 an hour from Des Plaines, Illinois, which is located by Chicago. On the basis of two service calls per year which we use to maintain the machine, figure 7 hours round-trip driving, $175, plus two hours of maintenance time here which would be $50.00. So we would have an approximate total maintenance bill of $225• Compare that to Addressograph Corporation. They charge $3l an hour from Green Bay. So that is 2 hours driving time back and forth -$62; 2 hours here equals $62.00 which makes it approximately $124 for their service call. So, in the matter of one-year's tire two service calls to maintain the blueprint machine we would be further ahead with the Addressograph Machine. Other factors to consider is that Addressograph has twelve servicemen in Wisconsin; the Dietzgen Corporation has none. The Dietzgen machine has no United Laboratory Lising where the Addressograph does. The Addressograph machine comes with more options and features than does the Deitzens. In short, t feel that we will be purchasing the better machine for our noney, plus savings in the long run as far as service is concerned after the sale. 1 hope that you will concur with my decision. slb/7943 s f /'J ' fv,Jj /f,G r; // `L i1 - ` b0 o 4-- • a a ., ow , t c°- +. C o a + O ri •ri F-t .. a o O N ' U, ` U] Cd 'J QQ u. a o .. o '` H cd U 0 K-i O 0 a . _
