The event is organized and staged by the Monnett family and its friends,with principle organizers being Jason Monnett,Jay Stoflet, Dan Clark and Sean Fitzgerald. We are not organized in any incorporated capacity-all revenues go directly into the Monnett Fund through the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation,and event expenses will be paid out of that fund.Event insurance was secured through the four principles listed above. For the sake of our special event permit with the City of Oshkosh,the event will involve a 5-kilometer fun run/2k walk at dusk utilizing a portion of the Riverwalk between Jackson and Main streets and crossing the two bridges,both of which are illuminated with decorative lighting secured through a fund drive lead by Jeremy. The race will start and finish (both the 2k and 5k) near,the City Center Courtyard along the Riverwalk. Runners will be adorned with glow sticks,glow paint and other luminaries of their choosing to light up the route during this event. Event organizers have been communicating with Sgt.Matt Harris of the Oshkosh Police Department regarding the proposed route(included) for the 5k fun run,and it's believed we can perhaps cover the course with Community Service Officers and Auxiliary Police Officers.We are amenable to modifying the route as this application is evaluated by city officials.While we anticipate blocking certain roadways for a maximum of 45 minutes -and most for much less-it's our goal to minimize traffic impact and minimize strain of city resources while ensuring safety for our event Participants. Following the conclusion of the race,Becket's will be hosting an event inside the City Center court atrium with Road Trip.Becket's will serve its own food and beverage service strictly inside.
