None Meeting Minutes Daniel Becker Acceptance of July 14th TRAB meeting minutes. 1st: Gary Ross 2nd: Steve Herman Carried: 6-0 A request to prohibit parking on Wisconsin St., west side, from Murdock Ave. to 135' south. Jim Collins Jim Collins explained the parking restriction would match the restriction on the other side of the street. This is necessary with the road reconfiguration on Murdock Ave. 1st: Steve Herman 2nd: Gary Ross Carried: 6-0 Committee Date: 9-8-15 Name: Traffic Review Advisory Board Location: City Hall 2 Item Facilitator Discussion Actions A request to prohibit w/bound to s/bound left turns at Merritt Ave. & Main St. Jim Collins Jim Collins stated that with Ski's Meat Market and new businesses in the area vehicles turning left here causes traffic to backup & he therefore recommends approving this request. There is also a sight distance issue. Mary Schultz, of 507 Jackson Street, stated she has had to wait 1 or 2 light cycles, especially if there had been a train. She said there are other opportunities for motorists that want to head south on Main Street. 1st: Steve Herman 2nd: Gary Ross Carried: 5-1(Ross) A request to prohibit parking on Knapp Street, west side, from 4th Ave. to 28' south. Jim Collins Jim Collins explained there is a line of sight issue with the Stadium Bar building being built so close to the street. He told the 28' parking restriction matches the restriction on the other side of the street. 1st: Steve Herman 2nd: Gary Ross Carried: 6-0 A request to change the lane configuration for e/bound traffic on Congress Ave. @ High Ave. from R turn only to a shared right- through lane. Jim Collins Jim Collins directed members to look at this entire Congress Ave. corridor, including Arboretum Dr., the crosswalk for the Wiouwash Trail, the intersection at High Ave. with the right turn only lane, and the intersection at Algoma Blvd. by the Paine Arboretum. He pointed out this is a designated truck route and there is not space to have both lanes turning left onto Algoma Blvd. He expressed concerns about traffic backing up if the right turn lane at High Ave. became a shared right-through lane. He also expressed concern about vehicles needing to change lanes quickly in order to turn left at the next intersection onto Algoma Blvd, which he noted the majority travel. 1st: Steve Herman 2nd: Gary Ross Lost: 5-1 (Wandschneider) Committee Date: 9-8-15 Name: Traffic Review Advisory Board Location: City Hall 3 Item Facilitator Discussion Actions One Way Streets Jim Collins Jim Collins told that the Mayor received an inquiry about converting Ceape, Waugoo and Otter to two way streets. Daniel Becker inquired about whether there could be additional signage by the Leach after special events. Jim Collins said he would discuss this with this Special Events Sgt. Matt Harris. None Recruitment of Board Members Jim Collins Jim Collins informed the Board that the Mayor is asking every board to recruit and is looking for volunteers for a public service announcement. He said the TRAB is full, but many other are in need of members. None Future Agenda Item Daniel Becker Daniel Becker inquired about whether or not the signage in Menominee Park was removed during winter.
