RE: Engineering Services Agreement for Hydraulic Modeling of
Storm Sewer Systems for Various Street Reconstruction Projects
in Steven's Park Neighborhood / Brown and Caldwell ($54,075)
The Department of Public Works requested a proposal from Brown and Caldwell to perform
hydraulic modeling of storm sewer systems for various street reconstruction projects in the
Steven's Park neighborhood area. The area being studied is roughly bounded by Bowen Street
on the west, Waugoo Avenue on the north, and Lake Winnebago on the south and east.
Several streets in this neighborhood are scheduled for reconstruction within the 5-year Capital
Improvements Program (CIP). The modeling and recommendations assist the Engineering
Division in preparing estimates for the CIP and assist with the design of the streets when they
are reconstructed.
Brown and Caldwell was chosen due to their experience in providing these types of services
and their experience in providing these services to the City in the past.
The cost of these services is $54,075. Funds for this project are available in the Storm Water
Utility Operating Budget.
Chapter 12 of the Municipal Code provides that professional services of a specialized nature,
including engineering services, may be approved by the City Manager without the use of formal,
sealed quotes. In accordance with Section 12-16 of the Code, I am hereby submitting this
report regarding this engineering services agreement.
Please contact James Rabe, Civil Engineering Supervisor if you have any questions concerning
this engineering services agreement.
