Oshkosh, WI 54902 (920) 232-5300 (920) 232-5307 FAX ADVISORY BOARD OF THE OSHKOSH SENIORS CENTER MEETING MINUTES JUNE 30, 2015 PRESENT: Mary Wiedenmeier, Cynthia Thorpe, Xandy Kloeckl, Vicki Leichtfuss, Judy Smith, Roberta Messer, Sue Gullickson, Bob Cornell, Bruce Abraham EXCUSED: Marlene Mielke, Sandy Noe, Gary Konrad ABSENT: Ann Marie Kosek STAFF: Mark Ziemer, Senior Services Manager; Kathy Snell, Lead Office Coordinator The meeting was called to order at 1:04 p.m. APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES: Bob requested clarification around changes to the computer lab. Mark explained moving to more mobile devices versus PCs. Would expand classes and have versatile space. Roberta moved to approve the May meeting minutes. Judy seconded. All were in favor. Meeting minutes approved as written. REPORTS Governance The annual survey results were reviewed. Kathy will forward via email all results. Judy reported the committee is recommending Bob Cornell as Vice Chair of the Advisory Board. Cynthia asked for any discussion. As there was no discussion, Cynthia called for a motion to unanimously approve Bob as the Vice Chair. All in favor, Bob will be the Vice Chair for the Advisory Board. Committee on Aging (COA) The Committee met last month, however, did not have a quorum. Mark reported the City Council has appointed a council member to the Committee on Aging. Debra Allison-Aasby will join the committee at the next meeting. Health No report. Fundraising Committee meets tomorrow. Night on the River brought in about $400. This is double the income last year. Cynthia thanked those who helped and came out to support the event. Bob suggested more donation buckets at future events. Finance No report. Friends of the Oshkosh Seniors Center Board Touch a Truck is coming up on August 8. Interested volunteers should contact Jody. Fall Family Fun Fest event coming up in September. President’s Report  Cynthia stated since no one has stepped up to volunteer as the liaison to the Friends of the Oshkosh Seniors Center (FOSC), she would like those who are able to sign up for one upcoming monthly (FOSC) meeting. She passed around a sign-up sheet. th  Cynthia reported we are set to have a booth at the Farmer’s Market on July 25. Kathy stated all shifts have been filled. OSC Manager Report  See attached report. Brief discussion regarding county funding. Mark will do some research regarding funding at other local Centers.  In addition to the written report, Mark announced that Jeff Liethen will be stepping down from the Friends board as of January. He also reported the Center will have a presence th in the 4 of July Parade. Roberta moved to adjourn the meeting. Xandy seconded. All were in favor, meeting adjourned.
