' �. :,�, POSITION TITLE: Computer Center Nlanager REPORTS T0: Admini.strative Review 3oard Basic Ftinetion• ; . `�e Direct, supezvise and coordinate all computer operations for the Computer Center, comprised of the Oshkosh Area Public Schools, the City oY Oshkosh, the County of Winnebago and the City of Neenah. Maior Responsirilitie_s_ and Duties: 1. Formulate methods to accomplish the objeetives, �licies and pri.orities of the Conputer Center; implement same when approved. 2. Erraluate new equipment and/or system tecBniquea for inclusion within the present systems. a.- Be aware of hardware and soYtware available. b. Reco�end addi.tions or replacements in accordance with established policies. j, Moni.tor contracted services and equi�.mant leases. a. MEintain close contact with vendors to insure proper servi.ce in accordance wi.th agreements. b. Approve invoices for paymsnt to vendors. 4, Maintaia proper Computer Center security. a. Ehiorce established procedures to safeguard data files Yrom loss due to har3ware failure or peril. b. Secure adequa.te equi.pment back-up in case of long term equipnent failure. c. Monitor Computer Center acti*rity to guard against unauthorized use. 5. Evaluate Computer Center personnel. a, Recommend the tyPe and number of personnel required to per£orm aex�vices ofiered by the Computer Center. b., Develop operating atandards and procedures for psrsonnel to . StucLy and reaolve system softzrare problems. 3. Direct and coordinate the particigating agencies to make effYcient use' of the compu.ter resources. 4, Act as liasun person between the Comput°r Center and the system soPtware vendors. 5. bIaiatai.a cosmonly used files and libraries. 6. Assist the Go�puter Center Manager in planning computer system capacities and evaluati.ng new equipcent and system software. 7. Assist the Coaputer Center Ntanager in setti.ng cormnon p;ocedures. 8. Perfozw the computer center pro�amming under the direction o£ the manager. 9. Under the direction of the manager and time peraitting, be available to the agencies for nc.r program development on a charge back basia. 10. 3erve as assistant manager during the absence of the manager.
