Where the existing 3" dia. roof conductor piping from Room 102 passes thru the wall above Door i/I03B into Aoom 0103, disconnect tlie piping as required so that Fluor Bros. can install the new steel lintel in that area. Temporarily discharge the pipe to the esterior as necessary. When reconnecting the conductor, run ttie pipe underneath the lintel at the opening. Hold the pipe as hlgh as possible. In esaence, the replacement piping in this small area and also in the area above Door lC103A vill be lower than as shown on the original drawings. Coordinate the height and location of this piping wi[h the new door at opening Ii103A. If there is extra time and material involved in ttie installation, due to the new height, keep zecords of iC, and submit your T6M billing in a breakdown form. This extra work, if a�, will then be written into a changa order at a later date. prior to the end of the project. , 2. At tiie southwest corner of Room 0107 it became evident [hat a vent line exists in the area of Door I1107E. We checked wlth Marv tii�ley, Plumbing Inspector, who determined that it will be necessary Co relocate this vent. As ve had discussed in the field, extend this vent over to the west, under the floor, and rise up veriically west of Door li107E as necessary. Co- ordinate the location of the verCical riser wi[h Fluor Bzos nnd Town and Country Electric, so that the pipe does no[ interfere wlth the track mechanism or the electrical components. Where the floor must 6e removed, do so by saw-cutting. Pro- vide corapacted fill and concrete floor patching per specifications. Perform work on a T&M basis. At completion submit your billing in breakdown form. This extra work will be written into a change order at a later date, prior to the end of the project. At the existing wall between Rooms 11102 and 103, plans indicated that the existing cold water line was to be removed and rehung from the ceiling at the height indicated�by you the Plumbing Contractor. Kienast removed the pipe in queation, apparently so they and Fluor Bros. could work in that area. Plans and specs, plus the preconstruction mee[ing minutes, clearly in- dicated that proper coordination of such work muat be conduc[ed be[ween the Trades. You indicated that if Kienast will provide code acceptable replacement pipe E.C. Merrill will install the pipe. We were asked to determine what size pipe is actually needed in this area. The supply piping required for the paz- ticular bus wash purchased by the Owner is 2-1/2" @ 40 P.S.I.C. The following has been determined by our Plumbing Consultant. Don liammer, hased on preasure available at the site: A. The existing east-west 3-1/2" line in Room p103 tha[ was removed prematurely must be replaced with a pipe size of 2-1/2" min. (or larger at contractor's option). The co- ordination and cost of this inatallation muat be handled by E.C. Merrill and Kienast. B. The new north-south water piping which extends from the pipe ln Room Ii103, per article A above, to the location of tt�e bus wash in Room 0101, ia to be changed from 1-1/2" to 2-1/2" due to the requirement of the particular bus vash equipment being furnished. The 1" feed to the water heater can remain. Change [he valves, shock stops, sleeves, etc. as necessary. The extra material involved in this change is to be charged on a T&M basis. Submit your billing for this item in a breakdown form and a change order will be written at a later date, prior to the end of the project. Thru the bidding process the Owner ended up purchasing a bus wash as manufactured by another firm, Ross and White. As per the original drawings, you are required to make the final connection to the Ross and White equipment. Enclosed is a set of Ross and White shop drawings, identified as Contract 8013. These drawings are for your use in coordinating your work in this area. Due to the fact that the Ross and White equipment does not come with a backflow preventer, it will be necessary to install such an assembly under your contract. Enclosed are three (3) copies each of Drawings P-101 and P-102 showing the necessary piping required in this area.
