Boz 280 Oahkosh, Wisconsin 54902 September 23, 1980 Mayor and City Coimcil City Hall Oshkosh, Wisconsin 54901 Dear Councilperss: This is to inform you that at the September 9th Oshkosh Commercial Develonent Corporation Boarrl of Directors meeting, we voted to support the Plan Coimiission's recotnrendation that there not be further comnercial zoning west of Highway 41. The City Council has made major public investments in Walkway West, parking im- provanests, and major street irovanents in the central business clistrict. The city is wvrking on an ertensive redevelognent area with the Oshkosh Centre. The Corporation rec.rognizes the Council has made a commitm7t to support the cen- tral business district. We urge you to consider the long range iicgliations if retail pansion along Iiighway 41 is allowed to go unchecked. A decision to allow the eansion of re- tail growth in this area will severely hammr and hinder these past and continuing efforts to assist the central business district.
