WHEREAS, the front balcony panels are pulling away from the City Hall
Building and can cause extensive damage to the building itself, and
WHEREAS, this damage should be corrected immediately to prevent further
damage, and
WHEREAS, repair of this type of damage takes a specialized knowledge and
expertise, and
WHEREAS, G. Reinke & Company of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, has the knowledge
and expertise to repair this kind of damage,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of
Oshkosh that the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to
waive bids and enter into the attached proposal and agreement with:
G. REINKE & COMPANY
900-912 So. Main Street
Oshkosh, WI 54901
for the repair of the front balcony panels and coping at a cost not to exceed
$16,350.00.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that money for this purpose is hereby appropriated
from Account No. 354-999, City Hall Remodelling.

SUBJECT: Repair of front balcony panels and coping
The attached proposal from G. Reinke & Company for repairing the
front balcony panels comes to approximately $16,350.00. As you
are aware the panels are pulling away from the building and could
cause damage to the building itself.
In order to correct this problem before winter, work should start
as soon as possible.
I have checked with another monument company and the architectural
firm of Yarbro-Kempinger and they advised me that since this is a
specialized area, plus a local contractor attempted to fix the
problem once before, a monument/mason company would be the most
logical solution.
Therefore I would like to request that the Council with your approval
waive bids so that repair could be completed by the end of October.
