A visual inspection of the west wall brick cornice indicates that
restoration of the extreme south end - from that corner to at
least the adjacent.building chi 3 y- needs to be re-built.
The area involves approximately!19 quare feet of masonry work.
You are authorized to restore this area under the Masonry
Restoration Allowance at yonr stated cost of $10.00 per square foot.
Please proceed with this work.

Mr. Marino:
Demolition of first floor coverings at the subject project has
revealed that a stone sill as shown on Section 1, Sheet 13, does
not extend fully between the masonry opening. The west 3'-0" +
is missing. -
It will be necessary to remove the existing stone sill and extend
the new concrete entrance slab as required to replace the stone.
Reinforcing as shown on Section 1, Sheet 52, will have to be
changed. We will have a new detail prepared for this steel.
After the detail on reinforcing steel is prepared, we will request
a proposal.

When the south end of the west wall masonry cornice was removed
for reconstruction, it was found that wood framing members are
in the same condition of rot as the east wall members. This
condition extends from the south corner to at least the first
106 High Avenue chimney.
This letter authorizes you to make the necessary wood member
replacements in the above noted area as shown on our Drawinq
A-103. This work will be on a T&M basis.
