� YlHEREAS, the Secretary of Transportation is authorized to make grants
for mass transportation projects;
WHEREAS, the contract for financial assistance will impose certain
obligations upon the applicant, including the provision by it of the local
share of project costs;
NHEREAS, it is reauired by the U. 5. Department of Transportation in
accord with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil P.ights Act c�f 1964, that
in connections with the filing of an application for assistance under the Urban
Mass iranspertation Act of 1964, zs amended, the applicr,nt give an assurance
that it will comply viith Title VI of the Civil P,ights Act of 1964 and the U. S.
Department of Transportation reGuire :ents thereunder; and
4lHEREAS, it is the goal of the applicant that minority Lusiness enterprise
be utilized to the fullest extent possible in connection with these projects,
and that minority businesses shall have th2 maximum fea,ible opportunity to
compete for construction contracts, supplies, equipment contracts, or consultznt
2nd other servies;
NOW, THEP,EFOP,E, BE IT P,ESOLVED by tne Common Council af the City of Oshkosh:
1) That the City Plznsger is authorized to execute end file applications
cn behalf of the City of Oshkosh o-+ith the U. S. Departnent of Trsn�portation,
to aid in the financing of planning, capitzl andior operating assistance
projects pursuznt to Section 5 and 9 of tl�e Urban 11ass Transportation Act of 1964,
as amended.
2) That the City htanager is authorized to execute and file with such
applications an assurance or any other docu^�ent required b�� the U. 5. Department
of Transportation effectuating the purpose of Title VI oP the Civil Rights Act
of i96u.
3) That the Transportation Director is authorizeci to furnish such
additional information as the U. S. Depart�ent of Transportation may require
in connection aiith app]ications for the program of projecEs.
4) That the City 14anaqer is authorized to set forth and e>ecute affirr.�ative
minority business policies in connection i��ith the proqram of projects' procurement
needs.
5) That the City F1anager is authoriz^d
behalf of the City of Oshkosh �}�ith Lhe U. S.
