HomeMy WebLinkAbout33380 / 85-21r � May 16, 1985 (CARRIED LOST #Zl LAID OVER RESOLUTION WITHDRAWN ) PURPOSE: TO MODIFY UNIFORM INSURANCE RE�UIREMENTS FOR SPECIAL EVENTS INITIATED BY: CITY ADMINISTRATION WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh had, by Resolution #11, dated May 5, 1983, adopted uniform insurance requirements for special events, and WHEREAS, different events provide different liability to the City, and WHEREAS, the liability insurance as required on the May 3, 1983 resolution requiring uniform coverage where the liability is different causes hardships to various organizations and promotes a deterrent to such organizations using public property for certain activities, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Oshkosh that the following policy activities is hereby amended to wit: Common Council of the for recreational INSURANCE POLICY � SPECIAL EVENTS (A) All sponsors, organizations, or any other person or groups scheduling a"special event" on the property of the City of Oshkosh shall procure at their expense, a policy of liability insurance for bodily injury in an amount not less than 3500,000 per person and 51,000,000 per occurrence and a policy of property damage insurance in an amount not less than 6500,000. The City of Oshkosh shall be named as an additional insured on said policy. An insurance certificate shall be satisfactory proof of the issuance of said policies and shall be on file at the office of the City Clerk of the City of Oshkosh a minimum of five (5) days prior to the scheduled event. (B) The terms "special event" shall include, without limitation: (1) Outdoor activities where alcoholic beverages are served in conjunction with sporting or athletic activities. (2) Outdoor athletic activities such as bicycle races, music performances or concerts, auto displays, boat races, water ski demonstrations, hot air balloons, equipment shows, carnivals. - 24- May 16, 1985 �21 Cont'd. (C) Recreational activities, not by definition in (B)(1) shall be required to provide satisfactory proof of insurance in the amount of not less than 5100,000 per person and 5300,000 per occurrence, and a policy of property damage in the amount not less than 5100,000. Recreational activities shall include, without limitation: (1) Athletic events such as softball, soccer, football, baseball, volleyball. (2) Cultural events, such as art fairs, antique shows, church services. (D) The term "City property" shall include without limitation municipal buildings, parks, beaches, athletic fields and complexes, streets and other rights of way, parking lots, boating and docking facilities, convention facilities and any other property owned, leased or controlled by the City of Oshkosh.
