HomeMy WebLinkAbout33395 / 85-02June 6, 1985 (CARRIED LOST LAID OVER #2A RESOLUTION WITHDRAWN ) PURPOSE: AMEND DISCHARGING FIREARMS PROHIBITED ORDINANCE INITIATED BY: COUNCILMEN BINNER & KUTCHERA A GENERAL ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OSHKOSH REPEALING AND RECREATING SECTION 18-25 OF THE OSHKOSH MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO DISCHARGING OF FIREARMS PROHIBITED. The Common Council of the City of Oshkosh do ordain as follows: Section 1. That Section 18-25 of the Oshkosh Municipal Code is hereby repealed. Section 2. That section 18-25 of the Oshkosh Municipal Code is hereby recreated to read as follows: SECTION 18-25 DISCHARGING FIREARMS PROHIBITED (A) No person shall fire or discharge any gun, pistol, fowling piece or other firearm within the limits of the City, except in the necessary defense of his person or property. (B) This Section shall not apply to the discharge of shot guns at places established for the shooting of clay pigeons discharged from traps; provided, however, that such places and rules governing the use of the same shall be first approved by the Chief of Police. (C) This Section shall not apply during the months of October and November for the purpose of duck hunting over Lake Butte des Morts and Lake Winnebago when and where life and property is not in danger, except for property abutt- ing South Asylum Bay, more particularly described as follows: That property abutting Lake Winnebago and lying Southwesterly of the following described line: A parcel of land in the south 1/2 of Section 7, Township 18 North, Range 17 East and in the east 1/2 of Section 12, Township 18 North, Range 16 East, al l in the Town of Oshkosh, Winnebago County, Wisconsin, described as follows: Commencing at the intersection of the westerly line of Lot 2 of the Doemel Plat and the northerly line of Hickory Lane (originally shown as Lake Drive), thence N. 73 degrees 55' E., along the northerly - 4 - ..r June 6, 1985 #2A cont'd. line of Hickory Lane 339 feet, thence N. 16 degrees 5' W., 30 feet, thence N. 61 degrees 5' W., 300 feet more or less to the southerly shoreline of Lake Winnebago also being the true point of beginning, thence northwesterly to the southeasterly (most easterly) corner of Lot 1 of Replat of Oakwood Beach Plat. Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and date of publication. - 4a- . .
