PURPOSE: AMEND SEWER SERVICE CHARGES
INITIATED BY: PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
A GENERAL ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OSHROSH AMENDING SECTION 24-
6.5(E) OF THE OSHKOSH MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO SEWER SERVICE
CHARGES.
The Common Council of the City of Oshkosh do ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. That Section 24-6.5(E) of the Oshkosh Municipal
Code pertaining to amount of sewer service charges is hereby
amended as to paragraph 1, as follows:
SECTION 24-6.5(E) AMOUNT OF SERVICE CHARGES
(1) Domestic.
CATEGORY A is defined as normal or domestic wastewater
having organic concentrations of biochemical oxygen demand
(BOD), suspended solids and phosphorus no greater than 210,
340 and 12 milligrams per liter (mg/1) respectively. The
sewer charge for CATEGORY A wastewater is as follows:
Minimum Charge -$5.00 per billing period
Volume Chaxge - .99/100 cu. ft.
(Subsection (a) remains unchanged.)
SECTION 2, That Section 24-6.5(E)(3) is amended as follows:
(3) Industrial.
Industries discharging wastes into the public sanitary
sewer system shall be billed in accordance with the
CATEGORY B Wastewater Service Chaxge if thei� wastewaters
have net loadings greater than that of the domestic
concentrations as defined in Section 24-6.5(E)(1) above.
If the industrial monitoring program results indicate a
categoxy "S" user charge less than a Category "A" user
charge, the Category "A" amount shall be charged.
The volume of flow used for computing the wastewater
surcharge shall be metered water consumption as shown in
records maintained by the Water Utility subject to
adjustments asotherwise herein provided, or the actual
volume of wastewater as determined by a waste metering
installation.
The CATEGORY B Wastewater Service Charge shall reflect

the unit costs of treating the volume of wastes and, BOD,
suspended solids, and phosphorus. The CATEGORY B charge
is as follows:
Fixed Charqe -$5.00 per billing period
Volume - $.359/100 cu, ft.
BOD - $,189/lb.
Suspended Solids - $.113/lb.
Phosphorus - $1.124/lb.
(The balance of paragraph 3 remains unchanged.)
SECTION 3. That Section 24-6.5(E)(4) is hereby created to
read as follows:
(4) Se�tic Haulers
All wastes discharged into the public sanitary sewer
system by septic haulers shall be billed in accordance
with this Chapter as follows:
Dischatae Fee Volume Charae
Holding Tank Waste $10.00/discharge $1.25/1,000 gal.
Septic Tank Pumpage $10.00/discharge $28.00/10,000 gal.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and date of publication.
