A D D E N D U M July 3, 1986 11196 RESOLUTION (CARRIED LOST LAID OVER WITHDRAWN PURPOSE: AUTHORIZE EMERGENCY SEWER RELINING (PUBLIC WORKS CONTRACT 86-22) INITIATED BY: DEPT. OF PUBLIC WORKS WHEREAS, during preparatory work for the West South Park Avenue paving project, it was discovered on or about June 25, 1986, that the existing sani- tary sewer pipe on West South Park Avenue between Knapp and Georgia Streets had deteriorated, and WHEREAS, the deterioration, which did not appear in previous sewer tele- vising, is severe and requires immediate repair prior to grading activities which will begin on or before July 21, 1986, and WHEREAS, because of the need for emergency repairs prior to grading, it is necessary to waive bids and to begin construction activity immediately, and WHEREAS, upon soliciting informal quotations, it appears that the most advan- tageous quotation is: SUPER EXCAVATORS, INC. N59 W14601 Bobolink Avenue Menomonee Falls, WI 53051 TOTAL QUOTE: $23,977.50 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that the proper City officials are authorized to waive bids and immediately proceed with emergency repairs by contracting with Super Excavators, Inc. at a cost not to exceed $23,977.50. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the proper City officials are authorized to execute the appropriate documents to effect repairs. This sewer runs approximately 1/4 full, and when it was televised the deterioration did not show up because it was below the water line. Tne system h�s deteriorated so badly I do not feel it practical to p�ve over the top of it. The low quote was that ot Super E>:cavators Inc. in the amount of �2=,477.50. Pecause Vinton Construction Company proposes to begin grading operations on West South F'ark: Avenue on or a6out July 21, I would recommend that this work: be awarded to Super Excavators Inc. on an emer-gency 6asis. I wouZd prefer not to change order their present contract so as not to clutter that pro�ect for DtdR purposes.
