PURPOSE: AMEND CLOSING HOUPS AND
APPROVE PACKAGED GOODS SALE HOURS
INITIATED BY : CITY ADMINISTAATION
A GENEAAL ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OSHKOSH AMENDING SECTIONS 4-71
AND 4-L2 OF THE OSHKOSN MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO CLOSING HOUNS AND
PACKAGED GOODS SALE NOUAS
The Common Council of the City of Oshkosh do ortlain as follows :
SECTION 1. That Section 4-11 of the Oshkosh Municipal Code
pertaining to elosing hours for intoxicating liquors is repealed antl
recreated to read as follows : . ��
SECTION 4-11 CLOSING HOUPS

No premises for which a "Class A^ license or permit is
issued shall be permitted to remain open for the sale of
intoxicating liquor between 9 p .m. and 8 a .m.
(B> ^_c�a�a a�� �i�aesa
( 1) No premises for which a "Class B" license or permit
is issued shall remain open between the hours of 2
a.m. and 6 a.m. exeept as provided in this
subparagraph and paragraph (C). On Saturday and
Sunday , the closing hours shall be between 2:34 a.m.
and 6 a.m. On January 1 premises operating under a
"Class B" license or permit are not requiretl to
close .
( 2) Between 12 Midnight and 6 a .m. , no person shall sell
intoxicating liquor on a "Class B" licensed premises
in a� original unopened package � container or bottle
or for consumption away from the premises .

Hotels and restaurants whose principal business is the
furnishing of food , drinks or lodging to patro�s , bowling
alleys , indoor horseshoe pitching facilities , curling
clubs and golf courses may remain open for the conduct of
their regular business but shall ❑ot sell intoxicating
liquor during the closing hours specified under paragraph
(B) ( 1) .

SECTION 2. That Section 4-42 of the Oshkosh Municipal Code
pertaining to closing hours for fermented malt beverages is repealed
antl recreated as follows :
SECTION 4-42 CLOSING HOUPS

No premises for which a Class "A" License or permit is
issued shall be permitted to remain open for the sale of
fermentetl malt beverages betwee� 9 p .m. and 8 a .m .
(B) Cl��� "_B" �14g¢S€
( 1) No premises for which a Class "B" license or permit
is issued shall remain open between the hours of 2
a .m. and 6 a.m. except as provided in this
subparagraph a�d paragraph (C). On Saturday and
Sunday, the closing hours shall be between 2:30 a.m.
and 6 a.m. On January 1 premises operating untler a
Class "B" license or permit are not required to
close .
(2) Between 12 Midnight and 6 a .m. , no perso❑ shall sell

SECTION 3• This ortlinance shall be in full force and effect

**At the January 7, 1988 Council meeting, the hours listed in Section 4-11 (B)(2)
and Section 4-42(B)(2) were originally 9 p.m. - 8 a.m.
