PURPOSE: APPROVE AGREEMENT WITH WISCONSIN DEPT. OF TRHNSPORATION
INITIATED BY: DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh
that the attacher' Project Ac-eement for Murdock Ave. - USH 41 -- USH 45
(Jackson Street) between the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and
the City of Oshkosh is hereby approved and the proper City officials are
hereby authorized and directed to enter into same.
BE IT fURTHER RESOLVED that money for this project is hereby
appropriated from: Account No. 338-999 -- Street Improvement Fund
Expenditures.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that specific consideration be given to
placing signals at the Smith Avenue and Snelt Avenue intersections with
Jackson Street.

We are sending a Project Agreeoent to cover a paxt of Che design engineering
cos[s for [he above project. According to departmenC policy Che ci[y is
asked [o pay for one-half of the non-federal aid por[ion (12.57,) of [he
design cost. This pmjec[ is loca[ed partly within the city, so we have
pro-ra[ed the cost according Co leng[h. Your shaze comes to $5,250. This
is a lump sum agreement which wi11 eimplify The record Keeping. The money
would be due in late 1989.
A separate agreement wi11 be prepare3 and senC later if right of way
acquisition is necessary wi[hin the ci[y.

l. When Fetleral Funtls are involvetl in the improvement, the initiation antl acmmplishment of the improvement will be subject

The exis[ing USH 45 coadway Ss a rutal 2-lane highway. Traffic volumes are increasing,
and capacity is becoming a protlem. The paveme¢t is also getting old and deteciora[ing.
