PURPOSE: DISPOSITION OF OBSOLETE WELFARE RECORDS
INITIATED BY: CITY ADMINISTRATION
A GENERAL ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OSHKOSH AUTHORIZING THE DESTRUCTION OF
CERTAIN OBSOLETE WELFARE RECORDS
The Common Council of the City of Oshkosh do ordain as follows:
SECTION 1 . Pursuant to Section 19.23(2) of the Wisconsin Statutes,
the proper City official5 are directed and authorized to offer title and
to transfer custody to the State Historical Society the following obsolete
records and materials of the City of Oshkosh:
- all welfare, general relief and related public
assistance documents prepared, dated, accumulated
or filed on or before �ecember 31 , 1980.
SECTION 2. In the event the State Historical Society declines custody
and transfer of the foregoing, the proper City officials are authorized and
directed to discard said materials.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and publication.

Re: Dispositin of Obsolete City kecords
Sir/Madam:
The Common Council of the City of Oshkosh has authorized the
proper City officials to destroy the following obsolete City
records:
- all welfare, general relief and related public
assistance documents prepared, dated, acamulated
or filed on or before December 31 , 1980.
This letter is intended to provide, pursuant to state law, at
least sixty (60) days notice prior to destroying these materials.
Please direct all inquiries to the undersigned.
